UPDATE : With a few last minute donations, we reached an incredible final amount of £5193.89. Once again, a massive thank you to all those who have donated and contributed.
The Gleaner Gang have had a fantastic ten months fundraising for MFR Cash for Kids, a charity who support disadvantaged and disabled children in the Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire.
The staff at our head office, Elgin, have thrown themselves into fundraising activities throughout the year. The staff participated in several fun days of dressing up, with themes including superheroes, haunting Halloween and a festive Christmas jumper day. The Christmas raffle also gave them a chance to win some fabulous prizes, with a 32 inch TV, Moray leisure centre passes and an Amazon Kindle to name a few! They have hosted activities that the local community could get involved in, such as bake and bottle stalls, a car boot sale, and a sponsored walk from Elgin to Lossiemouth. There were also two lucky winners from competitions that were held. Eva gained a new friend in teddy bear Abigail by choosing her correct name at the Black Isle Show, and Jack who got a sweet treat by guessing the correct number of 143 sweeties in the jar. However they didn’t just stop there, they also rallied round to donate Christmas presents to Cash for Kids to help those who would be waking up without.
The team has raised an amazing £4,700 with the final total still to be confirmed, blowing our initial target of £1,000 away! This contribution will go towards helping around forty seven kids in the local area. We would like to thank everyone who has been involved with our fundraising throughout the previous year to help us raise such a great total for Cash for Kids.
