Given the hot weather spell we have recently experienced, we would like to remind our customers of the importance of regularly having your fuel storage tank inspected, especially before placing a fuel order.
Oil tanks are exposed to the UV rays from the sun that can cause damage to the tank. Not only can this result in costly and environmental impacts, it can also result in possible disruption to yourself. Although our fuel delivery drivers carry out an inspection of the tank, if a crack or split is identified, the tank will need to be replaced before we can continue with the delivery.
Plastic oil tanks cannot be repaired, if it’s starting to show signs of deterioration through cracks, splits, whitening, bulging or deformation, you will likely need a replacement tank.
If you see any of these signs, or your oil usage suddenly increases, please contact our qualified boiler maintenance team as soon as possible, as we have engineers, in certain areas, who are able to carry out health-checks on your fuel storage tank and pipework. This is also carried out as standard as part of the annual routine service of your oil central heating boiler.
