Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Training Evening

12 July 2017

back to NEWS

On Tuesday 11th July 2017, we hosted the Elgin Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, who performed a training exercise at our Head Office Depot.

The exercise gave the Fire service the chance to train their Fire Fighters on an aspect of how to react to a tanker incident if they were to attend one elsewhere in the area, and to give the attending crews a chance to familiarise themselves with the depot itself and the hazards of operating with a ‘live’ depot. The exercise also gave the Fire Fighters a chance to deploy foam and to learn how to use/apply foam effectively.

At the same time the exercise allowed us to review our own procedures in the event of such an incident happening, whilst also providing reassurance to our neighbours that the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would know how to react to an incident in the depot.
